Health and safety update from the Cheney Public Library
*Updated on Monday, March 16 at 7:15 p.m.*

Effective Tuesday, March 17, the Cheney Public Library will be closed until further notice. We’re committed to helping stop the spread of COVID-19, and the sooner we’re able to do so, the sooner our community will be able to get back into a normal routine.

During this time, late fees will not be assessed. We will continue to monitor the evolving situation and communicate any changes as they arise.

Health and safety update from the Cheney Public Library
*Updated on Sunday, March 15 at 8:30 p.m.*

The health and safety of our patrons, staff and community is of the utmost importance. We’ve received a number of questions about the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and how it might impact library operations. The library always employs a variety of precautionary measures during times of increased risk (e.g., flu season), this situation included. Those measures include:

  • Staff sanitize all items that are returned to the library before placing them back into circulation
  • Hand sanitizer is available for patrons to use
  • Disinfectant spray is used throughout the library twice each day
  • Doors and counters are sanitized daily

One additional proactive measure we’ve taken at this time:

  • Story Time scheduled for Tuesday, March 17 has been cancelled.

No changes to hours of operation are anticipated at this time. We continue to monitor the situation and will communicate any changes as they arise. For more information about the Coronavirus, please see the CDC’s website below.
